The video game adaption of the acclaimed film of the same name. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is a follow up the well received adaption of the first two films in the trilogy. The game expands on what The Two Towers accomplished, with the action and adventure sequel introducing three separate story lines from the movie: one following Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli, as The Two Towers did, another following Gandalf, and a third following Frodo and Sam, with Merry, Pippin, and Faramir serving as unlockable characters. Gameplay features were also expanded upon, including multiplayer.

Juan_Cipollone

Probably the best movie tie-in I've ever played. Played it on the PC back in 2003, later on the Xbox, and I still come back to it from time to time. I've often wished for another action RPG, not necessarily LOTR-themed, with the same cinematic third-person camera and the same combat mechanics. It's a pretty unique and addictive take on hack-and-slash action. The sound, music, and visuals have held up well. It's a short game, but worthwhile for fans of the films, and just a ton of fun in its own right.
This game is part of me. When I was playing with my cousin at The Southern Gate, my mum entered home with a dog in her hands. It was a puppy that then stayed with us for its whole life. Mum asked me how we should call him. In that moment I was playing Legolas, but in Polish, golas means naked, so I had to choose the second best, and it was Frodo. I still have a painting of me and my Frodo on the wall. I remember that we were so into this game that when my controller broke, my cousin played on keyboard and I played on a racing wheel.
My first video game. I'll never forget the experience of opening the case and excitedly reading the manual on the way back home in my parents' car, or beating it in co-op with my cousin —me as Aragorn and him as Legolas.
I remember coming over to a friend house and getting to beat this game up XD back in the day where you got games on disks and had sleep overs to hammer out new ones. I remember loving this game, it was pretty simple but really fun. In a modern sense it's a little bit anime how all the character can deflect arrows with their weapons. It's also very fun how Each character has different combo limits and special skill associated with them. I remember loving playing Aragorn cause he had the longest combo only to find out, the character with the most powerful combo is actually Sam! Same gets mad respect in this game as being a melee Juganaught! The reason being him and Frodo are the only characters in their segement where as you have Eragorn, Legolas and Gimli with the ocational Gandalf. I really hope this comes to GOG! I'd love to replay and own this game, plus it's hard to find the old LotR games these days!
Shame Two Towers was never released on PC. I'd love to have both on PC. I imagine this game is locked behind some legal rights that make it unavailable for GOG to gain access to the digital rights. I wish them luck and hope they pursue getting this game on GOG.
One of the greatest games ever made. Simple. Fun. Everything you could want from a Middle-Earth adventure. The Howard Shore film score is perfectly integrated. The controls feel excellent (expecially once they're mapped the way you want them). The visuals, while certainly of their era, still hold up today. My brother and I spent many hours playing this as kids. We know all the spots to grind for XP, which upgrades to get first and which will make the strongest characters OP. We know what it's like to brave the Paths of the Dead 3 times in a row, perfectly spacing out encounters so we can maximize our score for the level. We know the joyous challenge of parrying half a dozen very aggressive Uruk-Hai while desperately waiting for that one teeny-tiny orc to man up and hit us already because the only insta-kill move we have unlocked is Orc Bane and gosh darn it we refuse to slay these Uruk-Hai without having Perfect Mode on! If this game is ever revived on GOG, I will purchase it Day One at full price.
My first game on xbox and played it with my sister, were wonderful times, awesome game, I would like to play it again!!!, I asked this game along my xbox because of the movie and sure a big fan of LOTR movies I love them, it has a solid combat gameplay very fun to play and more awesome on playing with someone else so that is the main reason makes it so special and if you GOG bring it to your catalog would be an instant purchased because I would like to remember the good old days so that its the reason this game will be always one of my favorites.
As a child I played this over and over. In my opinion the best lord of the rings game they have made. The way it follows the story and branches to different people doing different things was amazing. Great for multiplayer co-op too. I would love to play it again with my kids
Played this game to no end, while it only covers the third movie (and the very end of the second) the gameplay more than makes up for it, as well as expanding on existing battles for more runtime. I remember pretty much only doing counter finishers because I loved the animations so much, although I would love to play it again now that I have more experience as a gamer to see how well I can do the combos.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Fable IIFable 2 is the second game in the fable series by Lionhead Studios, it is an open world role-playing game. It has a simple story line where the hero needs to save Albion from the evil Lord Lucian by collecting together the other three heroes to defeat him. Interactive cut-scenes are a large part of the game however the main character never speaks and all dialogue is uncontrolled. The game features a large variety of game play and freedom, allowing a player to shape the world around and the characters appearance and moral standing based on decisions throughout the game. The player can also get married both same and opposite sex and bring up children to childhood but no farther, expressions are a lot more interactive with NPC's than before
