amok: it is not, the gear from AH is not best in slot at all
edit - in other words, it does not "get an advantage over other players" at all, you can only do this by playing
If you're buying better gear or position in the game then that is buying an advantage.
Plenty of pay to win games make people grind for days and days or penalise them for not paying in other ways.
Linko64: Boosting a toon to max level is paying to win over who exactly? The PvE? PvP? you just get a basic gear max level character.
Again with the raid gear, who are you winning over? If you're buying raid runs chances are you're not a player in a raiding guild, thus you live in LFR. This isn't winning over anyone other than limiting your self to being carried.
Blizzard fought bots LONG before they ever touched boosts and tokens. That goes far back into late 04/early 05 and the fight versus WoW glider and other programs, especially the ones that spammed PvP to farm defeat honor.
I don't like what Blizzard has become or agree with their options offered in WoW these days but I'm not going to shed logic and history to throw the term pay-to-win around. Buying the best football boots around isn't going to turn you into Sadio Mane.
No mention of the TGC game though, curious.
Some are mixed with gambling and pay to win. Maybe you have a strange definition of it.
Higher level characters are more powerful then low level. More classes mean you can swap them around to beat other players.
Raid gear is better gear. By your logic if people aren't raiding they should get that gear automatically.
Levelling bots limit how much they can cash in on tokens.
The server transfer scam let players join the winning side on other servers while excaberating population issues meaning customers couldn't even play the game properly.
