Story:
The players control the heroes or villians from the famous Lord of The Rings movies. With a hero characters similar to the Warcraft series you control both the armies and all the unique heroes. The game follows the movies very closely and even got scenes from the films appear in game. Not only does the game contain a giant campaign where you play through the journey of the ring as the good side, the game also features an evil campaign where as the players play as the evil forces of Middle Earth. With multiple diffrent races from all over Middle Earth, a giant spell tree to customize your game and a unique basebuilding layout the game was great for its time.

It was one of my favorite RTS. I found it really balanced for the time. I have the CD, but, 8 years ago, i couldn't pass the installation because my password is already used by me. Also, you can't buy it on EA. I hope one day is available at some place that dont have to go from web that you don't trust to have this game. Darkdriver9

Of course i will tell, a long time ago i used to played this game and it was fun, but some of the EA games news didn't do a thing, so i came to use my GOG app, because the GOG app is the only thing that can help for my pc gaming of myself, But I don't hate it, only the best game ever, also some of the lord of the rings: the battle for middle earth trilogy 3 games

Best RTS of all time, I actually came to buy and sadly discovered it isn't available anywhere :C please bring this back!!! I had the original disk back in the day and this is defnitely the game I played the most on PC, I loved this game so freaking much, it was well balanced, and even if it was not 100% lore accurate the gamplay was the best ever introduced in a LOTR game, specially for RTS, we need this game back.

This was such a great game of my childhood/teenage years. Many hours at lan partys, at home or at friends house. My First Strategy Love <3 I hope, it finds the way at gog, so i can play alot..AGAIN *__*

I would love this but atm you can legaly download and play all battle for middle-earth games for free. They even have a match making lobby and there are allways many players online, but all solo modes works, too. Also they have integrated the best and biggest mods fo these games, all in a very intuitive downloader... So yeah... this might happen, but will not bring a real dime to anyone.

To be Honest, I just hear a lot of good things about the Game and never had the chance to play it myself. And from what I hear, GoG does very well when it comes to making old games playable on current platfroms. which gives me hope that I might be able to play a highly praised RTS that I did not play before

I won a copy of this game from Gamespot and got all the developers to sign it. Unfortunately it was the XBOX 360 version and I eventually sold it as I no longer had any kind of XBOX. I have played the game and have been dying to replay it. It's definitely in my top 5, most wanted old PC games.

Still one of the best RTS games ever made. The hero leveling system is awesome, your units actually look better when they level up and you really start caring about keeping them alive instead of just throwing them at the enemy. Would love to see this classic available again.

A gem of an RTS, I played this with friends. It was one of the games with the most LOTR playable content, every faction was represented really well, the whole golum gameplay was peak. I will never forget this game or it's expansion.
