I remember playing this game as a kid and making sure I never lost a squad on the good campaign and then playing the Evil campaigh and just having piles of dead Orcs. It was a good Risk type game for the LOTR series and was true to the movies, it's a shame this is basically abandonware at this pointSeattledub291

An all time classic. Movie tie in games can be hit an miss but this was a fantastic game. The way the audio and movie clips merged with the gameplay. My mate had this on his PC and we took turns into the early hours playing it
One of the best RTS games I played, after W2 and W3. I loved it because I could play online with one of my best friends. I remember I had a very small laptop when working abroad, where I could easily play it, and I spent a lot of hours with it.

This game made the film trilogy come alive, and allowed me to take part in it. My favourite was Gandalf's finisher move that sent a shockwave and wiped out any enemies nearby.
This and BFME2 I played for HOURS on my Xbox growing up. One of the few games I really enjoyed playing online. It's a shame it's not available anywhere anymore. Please bring these wonderful little titles back to us fans; it would mean a lot.

Battle for Middle-Earth was my childhood. Literally. I still have my discs though, I am unable to actually install the game from them, as the discs are so scratched from overusage. This game brought to me the world of Middle-Earth closer, than the movies ever could. Following the Fellowship, I could save my boy Boromir and bring him home to defend his White City. I still remember a game I played with a friend, where I played Mordor and he played Gondor. He just wasnt ready for the sheer spam of Orcs I threw at him. One hour we fought over a tiny piece of land, until he finally had enough troops and leveled heroes to slowly beat me. Hell, his smile still freezes when I tell him about it. Yeah, the game is just so good. It is not balanced, and doesnt try to be. Hell, all three games in the Battle for Middle-Earth series had their problems. But all of them got Middle-Earth right. The had that magic. Its a shame, that the game cant be played officialy, especially because you just cant play multiplayer anymore. Online needs to be rerouted through third party apps and LAN is hardly stable enough. This game needs to be preserved for those who come after us. For the beauty and wonder, struggle and adventure, epicness and darkness of Middle-Earth was truly felt in this game. I just want the game to buyable officialy, and so that I dont need a plethora of third party software to one day be able to show it to my little brother or, maybe in time, to my kids.

The best RTS, make me cry thiking i can play it again ! I pass a lot of time on it when i was 13yo but definatly BFME 2 is the best ! We need to bring back these two games and add the server back !
This game and the 2nd one are classics. I really hope these two games return. Please gog.com let us have our childhood game back, I beg u! This game brings back so many good memories, it would be a shame to let this game die completely...
That was my favorite RTS when I was a kid; I probably played it for hundreds of hours, and now it's impossible to buy. I'd love to have the game back with multiplayer, 4K support and at least 60 fps, and proper camera zoom for high resolutions.
Those games also need your vote!

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

As the player progresses, his troops are equipped with weapons from "crysknives" to atomics, tap into Paul's latent psychic powers, and get acquainted with such characters from the book as Chani and Liet-Kynes.
