Thief™ 2: The Metal Age

A very good sequel from Thief 1

Its true that it is an old game even so you have mods like thief2 fix and HD mods for making run better. I would say the games strength lies in its design of levels even if not all are equal interesting, you have a lot of gear to use in the field some new and old. It has a nice story like this new Sheriff in town is going to make life harder for everyone. So Garret has to take on more dangerous missions. Then you also encounter the new sect that came out from the Hammerites that is led by this crazy Karras. Like the first game you can change the control bindings and make it a bit easier for yourself. Your a thief not a great swordsman you can take out one or two guys with a swords sometimes, but your shadows and blackjack a club to knock them down with. A silent approach is often better so you do not alert more guards. For me this game give me strong feeling of hunting and exploring the mystery. I do miss mission that have many undead like zombies and ghosts even so fighting the twisted Mechanists sect is fun. To bad Thief 2 the Metal Age didn't have time to get Gold like the thief the dark project had. We also have great pack called: Thief 2X: Shadows of the Metal Age that I played a few times its good even if its not Garret himself in it and the pack is unofficial. I would recommend that Thief 2 got more update like Thief gold and that got into the preservation program.

Close to the original

I would have given it five, but there is some bugs in the game Edna’s safe code do not work. You can type 1111 and open it. In the original Atari ST game, for instance you had to use an instrument for getting the code. It is the same for the labs inner door. This might be because of the copy protection are no longer in use. Other than that, I would say it is cool game, but some of puzzles will not work so well in the enchanted version.
