LEGO® The Lord of the Rings™

humorous and Entertaining

Lego: The Lord of The Rings combines the silly typical Danish Lego humor with the story of the lord of the rings. Besides following the whole journey through middle earth, you also get to engage in sidequests and puzzles. There's enough content to last for tens of hours. It's great fun to play with a friend and even if you just want to play it for the story, there's plenty of it here.

The Plucky Squire

Highly artistic, cute and cozy

This game piqued my interest when I first saw it's trailer. At the time of writing: 8 hours in and I'm really enjoying it. It's zelda like but in a storybook with puzzle elements where you sometimes have to... dare I say it... think outside the book. It oozes artistic talent and has fun characters and atmosphere. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page

cozy and charming

I thought the music and graphics looked interesting and having played for about an hour+. I thoroughly enjoy my experience.

Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery

Short artistic experience

I truly enjoyed my short time with the game. It's exactly what I was looking for. A small cosy game with nice music and pretty art.

Dorfromantik

Endless entertainment

I had a great time with it, but to me it feels like there's no end goal here and that always irks me a bit in games. Still, I didn't even leave my chair for two hours straight.

Mafia II: Definitive Edition

Intriguing and immerse

After having played Mafia 1 the definitive edition I tried this second one. Thus far it's been a very pleasant experience. It plays like a big interactive movie. The style is on point. Everything feels like the time frame it is in. The driving also feels quite realistic as well. Definately recommended

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition

Beautifully crafted and challenging

Ori and the Blind Forest may look cute and easy, but make no mistake. It's a platformer through and through. The music is great, the graphics still look fantastic and well, there's no reason not to play it, unless you're not good at platforming.

Haven Park

Simple and relaxing

A cute relaxing game that isn't too complicated. It's fine. Nothing major to write home about.

Cosmic Star Heroine

Quite the charming experience!

So right off the bat I must stress that this game has no key rebindings. I found the default buttons for my controller to be not optimised but could not change this. That said, let's get to the meat of the game. You're playing as the female protagonist Alyssa who works for a space agency and get sent to a mission to retrieve something on a remote planet and the fun starts from there. The story is 'okay', nothing to write home about. The dialogue feels very indie and reminds me of the time I tried making my own RPG. You get a lot of party members along the journey which can be swapped in and out depending on your liking. None of them are that interesting in terms of background story, but the real meat of the game is the combat. People have compared the game to Chrono Trigger in terms of combat. While you do start fights like in chrono trigger the combat is quite different in comparison. Yes It's tactical and turn based, but each ability expires for the remainder of the combat unless you defend a turn. This forces you to be extra strategic. I played and beat it on hard which meant that each fight felt very tough and in the early stages of the game I could JUST scrape by. About halfway through the game you do start to get that edge and the fights become less challenging. Fortunately you can switch the difficulty at any time. There are many abilities, weapons and armour to choose from. Each with extra combat abilities and perks. The graphics are a throwback to the old days and look decent. I do wish there was a bit more animation in the cut scenes though. The score for this game is quite good, but unfortunately some tracks could've done with more exposure in the game. Still, the soundtrack delivers and sets the right mood. In short, the game was quite enjoyable, had excellent combat but the writing and the story could've been better. If you like turn based JRPG games with interesting combat mechanics, this is a good enjoyable experience.
