Laika: Aged Through Blood

It could have been so great ...

This game has so many great things to offer: An amazing soundtrack, a gripping story and characters that make you forget that they are just drawn. It is fun to use your motorbike and kill enemys in slow motion even if it takes a bit getting used to. Yes, the map is terrible since it does not show you anything and especially not where you were or weren't and where you have to go .... but that's not what made me ragequit and uninstall this game .... It is the bosses. Yes, you are not supposed to beat a boss first try after all it is a boss. So I thought when I had to do a chase sequence with a boss and after maybe the 50s try or so I finally managed. It's all about practice and getting good, right? Wrong. There's a boss in the game which purely relies on RNG and you have to hit every target precisely while also controlling your bike and grabbing the boss being careful to not tilt over while having it grabbed with a rope. Take your pick. One time I did not hit the target and get crushed beneath it, one time I tip over because too much speed and the rope tilts me and one time I am too slow with the grabbing and have to start again ... but I can't because my gun is empty and I have to reload and then while turning upside down (because that's the ONLY way to reload guns) I smash my head on the ground also dying instantly. You'll have to hit the boss 5 times and ehenever you die you start from the beginning. So after dying probably 500 times or more I decided that I should quit. Usually after a while you get better in a boss fight after a while but this boss is different every single time so good luck trying to learn it. It is a terrible game design that makes a wonderful game turn into a nightmare to play and no, there is aboslutely NO difficulty slider and of course there is also no way to skip the boss. Worst boss design I ever witnessed and I finished Hollow Knight, Silksong, Grime and many more of these games. Every boss was beatable with a bit of practice this ony is pure luck.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Great game

Great game - trie to the movies and the characters and a lot to do. Graphics are also amazing - unfortunately it NEEDS a raytracing capable GPU though ... well optimzed as well. Highly recommended if you can afford and run it. (Edited this review 06/19/2026 - to reflect the actual state of the game. Before the edit I mostly complained about a long missing update which has been fixed and even additional updates were now delivered in time. So it gets all the stars now (3 stars prior to this improvement.)

Glowing Stones : Heroes' Awakening

X-Men for Adults

Disclaimer: At the time of this review the game offers 6 of 8 planned episodes and the review is based purely on these. I have to say that it took me a while to enjoy this game since at first I was not quite sure what the game would be about. Now, after playing about 15 hours and having 100% completed it I know and I am in love with it. The game tells an X-Men like story about everyday heroes who somehow developed certain superpowers and who are trying to use them for the good. The story is clearly focusing on characters instead of just displaying lewd scenes or action scenes. Every character has a background story and not a single one is just a pretty face. However the game also offers the mentioned action scenes which are displayed in well done animations and lewd scenes - again displayed in well done animations AND with additional camera options. In opposite to several of these games you also have a lot of coices - including the choice to reject every single character. So how the relationships develop is absolutely up to the player and not decided by the story. You can also chose which name you want to give your character, what name their superhero alter ego should have and even how this group of superheroes should be named or how certain characters or your superhero suit should adress you. Everything is up to you. The story itself offers quite a lot of surprises and plot twitsts which I would not have expected in simple story about super heroes. Of course I won't spoil them here. Gameplay wise in addition to the choices you can make the game also offers something new: there are some scenes in which you could spot clues regarding the story ... if you find them certain revelations will be made in the story later. It's like an additional hidden object game included. Also each character has an accessible biography that summarises certain events and character traits. The game saves played scenes in the gallery automatically - not just the lewd ones. This way you can always see if you are still missing out on some stuff because of choices you made and you can access every part of the story directly if you want to replay it. That's a great system and it makes me wonder why this is the first AVN (of those I experienced) which uses it. Soundtrack is good, animations and renders are good, gameplay is good, story is good, characters are interesting ... absolutely recommended.

Heavy Hearts

Much better than I expected.

The game is an interesting mix of visual novel and brawler with just a tiny bit of RPG elements and exploration sprinkled above it. Yes, there are a lot of well done sexscenes in it between all kind of living beings (not just humans) but at heart the game has a story, missions and more gameplay than you would expect. Characters are interesting as well and every artstyle the game uses (pixelart and HD drawn art) is done nicely. The game tells a story about loss, friendship love and lust and it does so pretty well. You travel through mostly small areas (most of them pretty different from each other) in which you will have to solve quests to progress the story and sidequests to unlock bonus material. Quests can be fetch quests, talking with people, finding things, trying to get into certain areas or fighting certain enemies. During the fights you can also use abilities and elemental attacks as well - the more you progress the more abilities you get. The game has much more gameplay than I expected while still having a lot of text in it. There is no voice in it - just sound effects and music - but it still works pretty well. I just finished the game today with only one star (=solved quests) missing, so at least right now it should absolutely be possible to beat the game from start to finish. That does not mean that the review that is marked here as "most helpful" is wrong - but the dev is constantly fixing bugs and uploading updates .... so most of what has been called buggy or incomplete is probably already fixed - including the gamepad controls which I used and apart from some controller prompts missing (which probably will be fixed as well) I could play the game with gamepad just fine. I enjoyed my journey and the few plot twists the game had to offer. This game clearly shows that it's an indie game so don't expect something big ... but it is well done. I cannot deny that there are still minor issues but seeing how many of those were already fixed and seeing how active the dev is on his discord I have no doubt that these will be fixed as well. So for those of you who don't have a problem with drawn sex scenes not just between humans and who want to experience something new and different in that genre I would recommend it.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series

Warning

It was a bad idea from Skybound to not make the commentary part of the actual game. Instead they decided to simply provide a link inside the game so that you'll have to connect to their servers to watch them. As usual with such things it does not work at the moment since the game cannot connect to the server. So I decided to go to the Skybound support page and there I found replacement links that are supposed to be a temporary solution... and thoose are also broken. I already owned all episodes of TWD so the commentarys were basically one of the main reasons I rebought this collection ... and these don't work. I am putting this here as a warning and will change my review IF this should ever be fixed. The game is 5 stars without a doubt but this is a special edition and these commentarys are a big part of it which is the reason why I substracted 2 stars. Again: I will change my rating if Skybound fixes the issue.

Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered

Game not longer outdated!

The games are great remasters of the original with Angel of Darkness even offering some minor scenes and features that weren't available before at all. However don't expect Angel of Darkness to be a different game now. They fixed main issues but at heart it is still the same game ... so if you dilsiked it then you will probably dislike it now as well. Recently this review mentioned how the game was not up to date since it took Aspyr months to add the latest patch. I am glad that this is no longer the case and so far I also did not hear anything about the game being censored this time. So yeah, if you like Tomb Raider originals you will prohbably love these ...

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition

Conclusion for a great trilogy

Luckily we now have the trilogy complete here on GOG with this one. This is the one title that never was available DRM-free on any other store so I am really gld that GOG reelased it here now as well. I have to admit that I did not finish it yet but so far it basically repeats the same gameplay formula TR2013 and ROTTR used and since that one worked so well, I don't see any reason to change it. Once again they improved the graphics as well and still the game is running super smooth with countless options to make it run on most systems. This is a clear 5 star rating game for me and I can't wait to continue to play it. (GOG has fixed the issue of missing languages that might still be mentioned in older reviews so this is definitely the best version available and there's no treason not to buy it imeediately)

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration

Great sequel of the trilogy

I am so happy that the two misisng Tomb Raider games arrived. The second part of the trilogy is pretty similar to the first one in the way of its gameplay mechanics but - as expected - is looking even more beautiful. If you liked Tomb Raider 2013 you will probably love this one as well. The games in these trilogy however are different than the classics so you should be aware that this is an open world game with RPG and survivor mechanics as well as the known exploration of tombs and ancient civilisations. You also get to know a bit more about Lara's family and background. As a Tomb Raider fan I can't recommend this one enough and the GOG version even managed to make the online features working offline so that's a big plus for me as well. My Steam/Epic version can now retire because this here is the definitive edition. Btw: The missing language issue (missing audiofiles for every language but English) has been fixed by GOG. So if you should read this in other reviews this problem is no more and all languages listed on the store page are available now.

Tormented Souls

The game is up to date since 05/08/2026

This review was originally a warning that the game - good as it is - was outdated since quite some time. Since this now has been fixed and GOG is allowing to change reviews as promised I decided to change this review and the rating along with it. It is a great atmorspheric game which now also is up to date so I really recommend it and I will now give it the 5 stars it deserves. Don't forget to check out the second part as well. :)
