Heroes of Might and Magic III: Horn of the Abyss

Only includes HoTA HD not HD+

This one click solution is great for when you want to play online or maybe against friends, but if you want to do the campaigns in the base game, HD+ mod is till way to go. They both use the same launcher and you just switch between executables in it, I don't know why it's not included.

Diablo + Hellfire

Diablo before loot hoarding

It's a lot more atmospheric than any of the sequels and in some ways has more in common with a souls game, especially when talking about the single player campaign. Diablo 2 is actually a sequel to the multiplayer part of this game, turned up to eleven. But in single player the dungeon is a finite resource, because nothing respawns. It's not about making crazy builds that kill the entire screen with 1 press of a button. The dungeon is a capricious goddess. It gives and it takes. You must make good use of whatever she gives you, becuase otherwise you won't be able to finish. The entire dungeon economy is a closed system, so you must manage all your resources and play tactically. Sometimes you sacrifice health in order to keep some mana, other times you waste mana in order to preserve durability on your sword because you're low on money and your spare mace is only good against a different type of enemy. Found a ring that you don't need right now? NEVER SELL IT! Because it might be useful later against different enemies. Inventory full? The world is your stash, because everything is permanent and stays on the ground even after quitting! Anything you gain has been taken from somewhere else which you won't get back anymore. Most importantly, it's still fun and a wildly unique experience, go play it.

Screamer 2

Best of the Screamer games

Screamer 2 ditches the sripted driving of the first game in favor of rally-oriented driving physics with a lot of sliding, which is... serviceable for the purpose. Sometimes it will feel weird, but the game is very easy if you know what a racing line is. The biggest reason I liked this game back in the day was the vibrant tracks with old early 90s techno soundtrack and the 2 player splitscreen. Every track was so wildly different in colour palette and theme and that is still a treat especially nowadays, when all the racing games just opt for open worlds where the whole map looks the same. btw. make sure you update the old dosbox in the installation, otherwise it will keep freezing on modern windows.

Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete

HoM&M3 Complete + HD mod > Remaster

I'm terrible at this game, could lose a match to normal level AI, yet I still love playing it ever since I first played it at my friend's house when I was 12. It's complex, there's a lot of broken strategies and the game wants you to use them, that's why its fun! Unlike the remaster, this has all the expansions and if you take the few extra steps to mod the game, it's basically a better remaster than the actual remaster. It has a charming aesthetic that still looks good today! Download the HD and HoTA mods here and you're good to go: https://www.gog.com/forum/heroes_of_might_and_magic_series/heroes_iii_multiplayer_online The HoTA mod is like an unofficial expansion pack and makes minor balancing changes, but don't worry all the broken stuff that makes the game fun is still in the game. Alternatively you can use Tunngle or something and play using local multiplayer, but 2000+ people still play it online using the HoTA mod, despite being a 20+ year old game. Latency is not an issue, it's turn-based anyways. Plus, you can create save files for multiplayer games too! I never played online multiplayer back in the day because I'm bad, I just used the random map generator and played against AI, which gives this game it a ridiculous amount of replayablility, kinda like a CiV game.

Screamer

Nice looker, horrible collision

This is more arcade than most new arcade racing games, to the point where the car handling is actually pre-scripted. Some corners are scripted to be always drifty, whlie others are always grippy corners or low speed corners where you need to let go of the gas. As a result a lot of the maps feel very same-y. Highest difficulty gets you rubberbanding AI. Each car has a manual and an automatic variant. Each car is different in the sense that some are better at drift corners, others are better at grip corners, or just have a higher top speed or acceleration. The cars are real life cars (just without the name, cuz licensing). I recognize the Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari F40 and Lamborghini Diablo among others. Music is done by none other than every 90s videogame's 8-bit audio legend: Allistair Brimble, except the music comes in CD quality instead of AdLib midi, as back in the day it was popular to have the CD-ROM in your PC also function as a cd player for any music CDs you had. It's a beautiful looking game and if you're into this type of games you might even enjoy the scripted handling, but the collision definiively ruins the game a lot - because that's also scripted. If you so much as touch another vehicle from behind, yours does a backflip. Conversely, if you're in the lead, you can abuse this to make everyone else getting near you do a backflip, because as long as your car's nose is further ahead than theirs, you can drive into them and they will be punished with a backflip. Game crashed for me after 10 or so races, until I tinkered around with Dosbox a bit. I'd highly recommend playing the sequel instead of this.

Cyberpunk 2077

Install new NVidia Game Ready drivers

...and the game runs fine without issues. Turn on DLSS and you'll get a good framerate too. I'm running at 60 fps on my RTX 2070 with all ray tracing features turned on and set to medium, rest of the settings are on medium to ultra. Then there's just some minor nitpicks like: - Why would they bind skipping cutscenes and dialogue to 'C' which is commonly used for crouching? - Some minor mouse input lag. Doesn't make playing the game hard, but it's noticeable, compared to other games - Game keeps moving the camera for you to points of interest, without locking the mouse, even though I have that turned off in the options. Feels a bit weird, but again, really just a nitpick. It's all fine though. Game is amazing and everything I expected it to be.
