i've been having loads of buggy issues with Gog's version of NWN2 Enhanced. I have yet to see any recommendations from "technical support" (their AI only comments on the "Complete" version).
My question is this: Should I kill my GOG version and simply go to Steam for everything from here on out? (I have over 260 games on Gog, but I'm more than willing to give them up if I can't get a HUMAN BEING REPRESENTATIVE to address my issues)..
Besides the bugs I've stated elsewhere:
the 'quick slots' come up empty on a reload and I have to switch characters back and forth to see them.
character don't follow when told to
recipes don't always succeed (ok, maybe because I haven't found the book for it yet)
dropping onto the desktop

GOG, ARE YOU THERE? DO YOU EXIST, OR HAVE YOU DECIDED A PISS POOR AI IS BETTER THAN ACTUAL PEOPLE
The enhanced edition is terrible anywhere you get it. It is not gog. The nwn2 complete works great.

Terrible is not the word, unless you are including GOG. They should have tested it before releasing it. If they had, they would have realized how buggy it is. The fact that they didn't warn people beforehand implies a lack of respect for players/customers. I'm beginning to think I should sue them for time lost (I've been forcing the playthrough for the past month+) , mental anguish (my wife is tired of hearing me curse at the game every ten minutes), and physical harm (pretty sure I sprained my wrist banging on my desk during one of the combats that ended up on the desktop)

I have Complete; do you know of any mods/scripts that can pass my character and/or game to Complete? I really don't want to restart the game (I'm trying out a Bard/Cleric/Ranger/Dragon Disciple).

For the GOG team: get one of your people to create the mod/script if it doesn't exist. If you do, I may buy another GOG game (I've already bought hundreds and could buy thousands more for my kids and grandkids $$$$$$$)

Answerd mu own question:

Queried Co-Pilot:

is there a mod/script to convert nwn2 enhanced edition to nwn2 complete edition

It's reply:
/b
"Short answer:
No — there is no mod, no script, and no tool that can “convert” Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition (NWN2:EE) into the old NWN2 Complete Edition. Nothing in the modding community, Nexus, GameBanshee, or Steam Workshop provides such a conversion.

Why:

NWN2:EE does not exist as a released product. Beamdog never created or shipped an Enhanced Edition of NWN2.

The only official NWN2 release is the original 2006 game plus expansions (Mask of the Betrayer, Storm of Zehir, Mysteries of Westgate), sold today as the Complete Edition.

Mods you see on Nexus or Steam Workshop labeled “Enhanced Edition” are community mods, not an official EE engine. They cannot convert the game into a different edition. "/b

I bought it on Steam. But ten hours in the main campaign I have to admit this game really stinks. There is hardly any immersion. Dialogue und game world feel completely shallow and empty. Just the silly way the party members are constantly striding around with their weapons drawn, whether in a dungeon or a town, really irritates me and makes it all seem so incredibly implausible and console-like... like one of those ugly manga-style FF abominations. This is no way close to the magic of the old Infinity engine games. Stay away!

I just got a GOG email for a 50% discount! On....Enhanced. Not Complete. Not cool, GOG. Why even sell Enhanced at all? It doesn't help your brand. Complete is GOG. Enhanced is Steam garbage.

NWN2 Enhanced Bugs exist, no matter where you buy it. You can't blame GOG for Aspyr (edit) bugs...

i really don't care whose bugs they are. Gog should have tested the game before releasing it. I don't even want my money back; it wouldn't be worth the trouble and anguish.

The neverwintervault.org has been writing modules for NWN2EE, but the mods require umpteen number of haks to get around some of the bugs. Maybe GOG should hire some of their programmers

Credit where credit is due. Beamdog has nothing to do with NWN2 EE whatsoever. Any bugs you find are the responsibility of Aspyr (for new ones) and Obsidian (for old ones / engine).

That's an asinine take. Games have bugs. All of them. It's not the job of the distributor to gatekeep until games are perfect (they never are), nor to do free QA.

This all falls to the Aspyr (thanks for the correct Leroux) the developer/publisher of NWN2:EE.

GoG will refund you if you are unhappy, that is their reasonable duty...

Then you can go buy on Steam, and complain about Steam not doing QA or fixing games...

Asinine or not, it is a distributor's onus to make sure they are selling something worthwhile., You don't see your local clo0thing store selling shirts with holes (ok, 'torn' dungarees, but that's a style decision for those who can't wait for the tears to occur naturally).

I'm not complaining about the occasional bug that creates a problem. I'm talkng about a serious series of problems that show up consistently and make the game unplayable. If Gog had play=tested it, they would have realized the game wasn't ready for distribution. Instead, they decided to rake in the $$$.

Insofar as money back: again, that should be Gog's doing. They know who bought the product and for how much. If corporations can recall their products, so can Gog.

Why haven't you got your refund and gone to Steam yet?

Most people that have both the EE and old Complete version consider them about equal for bugs. I've played the complete many times, and you just use the internet to figure out how to deal with bug instead of having a hissy fit.

You seem woefully out of touch with how the world works. I expect you keep returning canned food to the grocery as defective because it doesn't have a pull tab to open it.

Seeing how you would rather troll than discuss issues: Have a nice day. I'll continue playing Complete and warn people not to purchase EE
