This is kind of silly to even ask because an MMO can never be DRM-free since it relies on online to actually function. They could easily bring it here but it wouldn't change the fact you have to connect through blizzards server to actually play the game which is against the whole idea of being DRM-free. I know some people might say that other games on GOG have lobbys that require a username and password through a third-party but at the very least you could play singleplayer DRM-free.

It's theoretically possible that Blizzard could release a version of WoW that comes with a private server, so you could play 'offline' by yourself, or only allow invited friends to join.

It's incredibly unlikely that they would, especially since they've gone after private servers in the past, but it's not a completely ridiculous idea.
Hypothetically, it could be played Single/Solo, but I feel that'd be incredibly lonely, and after a decade or so of ruining the game with bloat, guff, feature creeep, and power cruft, I'm not entirely sure the wishers of the games would desire it anyway.
