i5 460M onboard. Positive impact? I was able to use my laptop (with 4GB of RAM at the time) while ripping several of my old DVD's to h.264. Browsing the internet wasn't as smooth before ; ) In short, multitasking seems to work as suppose to.
TT_TT_TT_TT: Okay cheers! Thanks for the example - this sounds like a valid use case/good example for actual use of the programm! Have not done ripping/video encoding here for a while myself so this was never an issue for me - but ya i remember my "dead" system when i was doing stuff like that ages ago on my old x2-250 - have an overclocked third generation I5 desktop now though so these a problems of the past :D

Even 1st generation i5 runs great, the problem lies in windows I believe. Microsoft will always find a way to take as much resources as possible, or even more.. also prioritize processes in a random way it seems ; )

Don't you worry about that! A few more updates and you will feel like on good old P133 with 4MB of RAM ; )
