Story:
Discworld is a game released for PC (subsequently Mac, and Playstation) by Teeny Weeny / Perfect 10 studios in 1995. The game was released both on floppy disk and CD-Rom. The latter featured a commentary team created of many veterans of famous Brit-Coms. This included Monty Python's Eric Idle, Radio 4's (later to be more famous) Rob Brydon, ex- Doctor Who John Pertwee, 70s pop singer Kate Robbins, and Blackadder star Tony Robinson. The game is a riff on the Discworld title 'Guards, Guards', however many elements of the text have been shifted, not least the inclusion of Rincewind as protagonist. The game featured puzzles which were considered far too difficult and obtuse for gamers of the time, but the game itself has had a lasting legacy, now being accepted into such emulators as SCUMMVM.

Got this on PS1 and never beat it, cause it was pretty hard. I tried so often but back then I hadnt Internet at all for help, I really want to beat it in this life. Please also the german version Rincewind got the german voice of Tom Hanks and it was awsome.Dr.BBB

I was already a fan of Terry Pratchett when this game came out. The game is awesomely witty and massively infuriating in equal measure. The answer to a puzzle could keep you stumped for days until a moment of clarity or dumb luck takes hold and you find yourself ranging at the simplicity of it. DiscWorld is a beautiful game for the time. Loved my time with it.

The entire Discworld universe is so rich and wonderful. Sir Terry Pratchett truly was a genius and he is sorely missed. I'd love to see more of the books developed into games, especially the later novels with Moist Lipwig.

The Discworld point and click adventure games are some of the most creative and entertaining of the genre. They deserve the GOG treatment so those who remember can enjoy them again and those new to it can experience the sheer joy they bring.

My cousin introduced me to Discworld as a kid, with the animated versions of Soul Music and Wyrd Sisters. One day he brough this home with him on ps1, and we loved it. We needed a 100+ page guided printed off from an old walkthrough site but still loved it. It's definitely not aged perfectly with some of its jokes, but i still wish it was able to be played again, Discworld in generaly deserves more love.

Just another nostalgia trip! I remember playing this in my aunt's (who introduced me to the beautiful world of point and click games) computer and having a blast! I would love to be able to play this again!

Pretty fun doing point and click puzzles in the Discworld and interacting with all the weird, interesting and charming characters I only imagined through the pages. Please bring it back and give a chance for the future kiddos to play this gem.

Nicely captures surreal sense of humor so well known from Pratchett's books. But not only for Discworld hardcore fans. For everyone who likes a good laugh and thinks (very much) outside the box :-)

I played this game with my older brother on PC, I have nothing but fond memories and laughter for this game. It has really difficult puzzles at least for me at a young age, I truly want to relieve those moments. Test my adult brain if I can solve them again, now on my own PC instead of my brothers. So I can then play this game with my children in it's beautiful GOG glory.

One of my first grown up (as in not targetted for kids) games, and my all time favourite book series, Discworld makes fantasy fun again. You really can't go wrong with Eric Idle's delivery as Rincewind either, and this is one of the best point and click games that was ever made simply based on the humour. Introduce yourself to DnD "with jokes in" and vote for Discworld to be saved (my original copy begs you!)

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

It has a simple story line where the hero needs to save Albion from the evil Lord Lucian by collecting together the other three heroes to defeat him. Interactive cut-scenes are a large part of the game however the main character never speaks and all dialogue is uncontrolled. The game features a large variety of game play and freedom, allowing a player to shape the world around and the characters appearance and moral standing based on decisions throughout the game. The player can also get married both same and opposite sex and bring up children to childhood but no farther, expressions are a lot more interactive with NPC's than before
