‘Devotion’ is a first-person atmospheric horror game set in the 1980s Taiwan. The story centers around a seemingly ordinary family of three that lived in an old apartment complex. Explore the nostalgic house in the 80s where religion plays a significant role in their daily life. When one day the same house that once filled with joy and love had turned into a hell-like nightmare, and by venturing in the haunted and confined space, each puzzle leads you closer to the mysteries nested deep inside.

So I've heard plenty bout this game and I tried to purchase it from Red Candle's website the other day. Sadly, the purchase couldn't go through for whatever reason. I couldn't figure it out, but I'll try again in the near future. It's sad for everyone that we even have to go to their website just to get this game! This should be available on every platform. 9214cand

The reason I came to know this game was through the censorship it suffered at the time of its release. Personally, I appreciate horror works in general, especially the more experimental ones. And Devotion seems to have exactly what I've been looking for in art as a whole... Meaning! It wasn't banned for being harmful, for trivializing anything heinous... It was banned for showing a reality. That's what makes me curious about this work and makes me believe that, in a way, it's relevant, both politically and artistically. This is a work that I wholeheartedly wish would be included in the Good Old Games catalog and receive justice.

It deserved better than what it got. All because there happened to be a gag texture that was datamined. If the developers hadn't managed to get it back up via their own store, there'd be no proper way to play this game, and that's terrible. I still remember when GOG initially backed out prior to its relaunch, but here's to hoping they change their mind and put it on here for preservation. It truly deserves it.

Great game. It should be easier for more people to play, rather than having to buy directly from the Devs. One of the best horror games of the last decade or so.

I read some articles saying that GOG tried to sell Devotion on its site, but it did not work out. I would praise GOG for trying again to convince Red Candle to selling this game here as well as Red Candle's site. I know about the controversy involving a political figure parodied in the game, and that element could be removed. I am against censorship, but I also think that a horror game does not need parodies.

I really want to go and play this game but is removed from gog why gog, because gamers you remove this amazing and artistic game that shame 😭😔😭 But I hope it return to gog or some where I feel gog regret it or mistakin when removed But please I begging you gog resurrect it 🥺🥺🥺

Frankly, returning this game to the store, would be a great signal, that game preservation program is really about every game worth preserving – not only the classics.

lol y'all still talking about this? eh, have an upvote. Uh, also, my granddad first showed me this... it was a core memory of feeling Devotion without even being in Detention. Never have I virtue signaled as hard before I met Devotion. Me and my brother used to play this on ZX Spectrum in 1989

One of the most unnerving games I've played and a very unique story. Shame that it was review bombed and then removed from a different popular game store front because of unhinged nationalists of a certain country. Horror game fans who haven't expirienced this game are missing out in my opinion.

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
