Hello,

I'm newly registered on Epic's site,
looked at a few of those: It seems to me, that all of those games are online games, and in many cases you just get additional content/items, is that correct, or are there exceptions?

Generally Epic gives always free games and content that are accessible on another stores also (except some exclusives like Fortnite).

On the other hand, if you are new to Epic, they do give weekly free game every Thursday like drxenija posted - current one being Turmoil.

Thank you for the information, I'm specifically interested in the list hwich doesn't change every week or so; looking around, I only found content for "free" online games with additional paid content so far. Are all of those games like this, or do they also have "classic single player games"? (I'm not referring to that "periodical giveaway" mentioned below.) Yes, got that, and because of such a game I registered in the first place.

Another question: how do I download games I got that way? I don't even see a list what I already own there. (Via web browser or similar, no "app" or "launcher" for Windows.)

Epic, even more than other sites, is really client centric.

Since I do not use GUI clients anywhere, here is what I do for epic:
1) To see owned games on the website --- I go to account => transactions
2) To download & install games --- I use the legendary command line tool (https://github.com/derrod/legendary/tree/master)

You need to intal the Epic Games Launcher to be able to instal the games you have claimed. It is very basic launcher but it does the job. You cannot see you games from the site that easly very similar to how steam works(only the transactions are visible in the settings).

Thank you, I already had found and installed "legendary", I just thought there must be a way to download "offline" installers via web browser, like you can do on GOG or Indiegala.

I personally don't like those clients permanently spying on the player (and I won't let them do that to me in exchange for "achievements"), on Steam, for example, I use the client for downloads and test-starts only, for example.

I accepted a "friend request" on GOG recently, and now I get notifications about almost everything the other person does on "GOG Galaxy".

On Steam I've set everything I could to "private" and turned off that other "security" thing they want you to use. That prevents me also from posting on their site.
Thanks, there's a third party solution for offline downloads ("legendary," see other posts), I just couldn't believe that there is no way to "just download files" with your browser.

I don't use GUI clients anywhere, and I download/install games only through command-line tools.

I use Gogrepoc for GOG, SteamCMD for Steam, Legendary for Epic. I have looked at Nile for Amazon, but haven't tried it yet, since I do not own any Amazon games.

Thank you for telling me this, I didn't know about these before, and will have a look at them (also no need for Amazon here).
