Best RTS, I have ever played, along with Star Trek Armada 2. Elves and their bow abilities, hell yeah. Legolas for the win. Creating your own champion on top was awesome. Wish they would create a new part with Thranduil. taoeryon

I've played the first game when it came out and was completely obessed with the second one as a kid! These games have been a huge part of my childhood and are such a fantastic entry into the LotR franchise. Thanks to the Edain Mod team the game continues to be relevant for strategy game enthusiasts. It's a shame that it's not available anymore and that people playing now can't experience this gem of a strategy game. It still to this day is the best RTS game I've ever played and I would love to be able to play it again with a proper multiplayer community. I'm convinced that this game being available again with the work the Edain Mod team has put into it, could become one of the best competetive RTS games yet. This game is a piece of art when it comes to game design and therefore should be conserved for people to enjoy!
Love this Game, played endless hours in this, hopefully it get back for all people soon. Will try to Bring my old Disk Version of this, the Extension and First Part back to live on my new Nobara Linux Setups, hopefully it's similar to Win7/10.
It sucks all good gaming computers r going to digital only, I have games that r only available on hard discs this and the other The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth games r one of my most favorite. I have everything cd keys, discs, Lol even the manuals. And it sucks i have to buy separate hardware for my laptop to play any of them. That is why i would love for this site tomake it available to download. Hell if anything i would give them my copies so they could.

Man I loved this game so much. I played it everyday. I still have the memory of the voice lines like "Tangado haid!". The LAN partys with friends. The different factions. The music. I always asked myself why they never made a third part. This game is the GOAT!
Jeux fidèle au seigneur des anneaux. Jeux Mythique. J'ai beaucoup joué à ce jeux. Bataille dynamique amélioration d'unités. Pouvoir intéressants. Pour pouvoir y jouer encore de nombreuses heures. J'adore ce jeux. Une pépite d'or.
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II (2006) deserves a place on GOG because it is one of the most beloved real-time strategy games based on Tolkien’s world. Its epic campaigns, memorable factions, fortress building, and large-scale battles made it a classic. A DRM-free release would help preserve this legendary RTS and let modern players enjoy it legally again.

The very first game i played on my very first Computer. Just hold nostalgia and Happy memories, Playing this at Lan Parties and trying to claim the one ring in war of the ring game mode. man what a time
Duuude, what a blast from the past. The hero creator was very rudimentary, but fun as hell. A bit of customization, a few really OP skills and you could have an uber Gandalf with a massive AOE nuke. It has a gamemode, IIRC the War of the Rings, which is a mix of turn-based strategy and RTS. Movements on the world map are turn-based, and you can resolve enemy encounters with a quick battle that will just do a quick compare of your strength against the enemy, or you can go into RTS mode and play like a normal single map RTS game, allowing you to potentially win against an enemy that would smash you in a quick battle resolution. I mean quick battle like you can do in Heroes of Might and Magic turn-based games. There's one dark side spell that really sticks in my memory. It summons a dragon that just lands in a chosen spot and deals damage to nearby enemies, but being a spell summon, cannot move around the map, except by using one abilty: it does a massive leap into the air, disappeares off the screen, and lands in the next chosen spot. Devs absolutely didn't have to do this, they could just have the dragon walk to the new spot or reuse the animation for one of the other dragon-like models, but they animated this specific action. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Black & White
Black & WhitePlay the role of a deity in a land where the surroundings are yours to shape and its people are yours to lord over. Be an evil, malevolent god and the natives will worship you with fear in their eyes. Play as a kind, benevolent god and they will worship you with love in their hearts. Your actions decide whether you create a heaven or hell for your worshipers. Then select a creature from the land to act as your representative in the world. Raise it to gigantic proportions and teach it to do your bidding--whether the animal grows into an evil colossus of mass destruction or a kind and gentle giant is up to you. Progress through the game's rich storyline performing powerful miracles to battle other deities and become the world's supreme god.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Dune blended adventure with economic and military strategy, and is considered by many the most immersive Dune computer game. As the player progresses, his troops are equipped with weapons from "crysknives" to atomics, tap into Paul's latent psychic powers, and get acquainted with such characters from the book as Chani and Liet-Kynes.
