Been playing this game since it came out. Have enjoyed every second of it. Honestly it is one of my favorite games of all time. One of the most interesting mechanics that made it so replayable was the fact that you gained the memories of alex through side quests and happenchance. Been playing this game since it came out. Have enjoyed every second of it. Honestly it is one of my favorite games of all time. One of the most interesting mechanics that made it so replayable was the fact that you gained the memories of alex through side quests and happenchance. This game has a lot of problem. From the price to a sudden spike on Steam thanks to Activision's greed, multiple bugs, including shadow issues for AMD users and the port is locked to 60FPS. Going above that will crash the game instantly! So yeah, bring this here DRM-FREE! I was only 14 when I spotted Radical Ent HQ logo and I think of myself, wow Canada has games studios too apart from Ubisoft that is.. If I had a billion dollars, I would take this IP offa Activision's hand for good. Praise Canada!

It is peak, simply immaculate, life changing, breath taking, profoundly entertaining, one could even say, RADICALLY so. A flavour so exotic you will only find an equal when comparing its successor.

Remember playing this game when I was a kid on awful laptop that barely ran it. I hope it gets preserved with all the needed patches, since it won't even launch on modern systems.

People call GTA a chaos simulator. It has nothing on Prototype! Run on buildings glide on you weird blood mists, piledrive a tank! EAT people to regain health. Once a big rival to the Infamous series and still has allot of pure fun with it's gameplay. The PC version was very janky so if GOG could fix it up it would be awesome.

This game was with me throughout high school; it gave me that dream of being able to run through buildings, to go to inaccessible areas, the feeling of power at its maximum expression. I played it on a low-end PC, it ran at 10 or 15 fps at best. I enjoy the virus theme, especially with the pandemic. This game deserves to be preserved, as a reminder of how we used to like to play things, with freedom

Prototype is partly of a sorely missed genre of open world destruction sandbox that sadly has been abandoned, so a lot o computers today cannot run it, or the amount of hoops one has to jump to run it that some people fear it could damage their PCs. It's a fun game that reminded me of my days playing Hulk Ultimate Destruction or Ultimate Spider-Man as Venom, and I think we could use some of that fun in this day and age.

One of my very first open-world gaming experiences, and honestly, I don't have the words to describe how much this game means to me. Please bring this game and its sequel to GOG. If possible, also consider adding regional pricing for countries like India, along with local payment methods such as UPI and other online transaction options. Steam already offers these features, and they've made games much more accessible here. If GOG introduced regional pricing and convenient local payment options, I'm confident many gamers in India would choose to buy their games legally instead of pirating them. Having two great platforms to purchase and download games would make a huge difference and could significantly reduce piracy over time.

I played it with a friend, and we just had so much fun running around the open world, using all the different abilities to cause destruction, or simply exploring the city and continuing to upgrade and improve our abilities. Hopefully, it will come to GOG someday, because it’s such a great game — even today.

Nothing else has given me more of an adrenaline rush than when i was fully zoned in playing this game and causing insane amounts of carnage to Alex Mercer's city in real-time! All this on a meagre Pentium D and 2GBs of ram too!

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
