Its been such awhile Ive played PREY but i so want too again! I like the violence and the unique alien weapon design. They have alot of good punch when you fire them at your foes. The story is really nice and good too and Tommys voice lines I realllyyy dig! I hope it comes back to GOG platform!Vzzzbx3000

One of the most interesting games I've ever played. Back in that times that beautiful graphics style seen in Doom 3, Wolfenstein 2009, Quake 4 and Quake Wars, to name a few, where HD textures were not the best but other effects instead, creating a strong sense of immersion and realism perhaps never seen in FPSs before. They were trying to achieve a cinematographic feeling, it was a very unique and limited time in history of that kind of games. You start in a bar when suddenly aliens arrive and abduct everyone, in a dramatic story in which you are a cherokee in the need to rediscover your roots while trying to save your girlfriend and your father, while in an alien ship traveling across dimensions and changing into a bird, it was pretty crazy. Very intriguing and interesting, I think that are the best words to describe it.

A really cool, underrated game - that I never had a chance to finish. It had very unique ideas that were a bit ahead of its time: it had portals before Valve's very own iconic game; there were sections of the game where you could flip the gravity (and your main character would even puke, which was a funny detail); the overall art design/presentation of the game was slick and quite high-end for its time (using ID software's then latest version of the idtech engine, the engine used for DOOM 3 and Quake 4); all with a sympathetic, non-silent, POC (Native American) main character. Having this game preserved on GOG, DRM-free, and with a few modern bells and whistles (widescreen support, perhaps a hi-res texture pack of some sort), would just be awesome.

this game was a masterpiece in level design. the more modern prey that simply borrows it's name , was a massive let down to me. this is the prey i remember. levels that defy reality , with a rememorable main character. built on doom 3's engine this game was amazing to me back in the day. my copy saddly was a direct2play digital version and when that store front closed i lost my copy of the game. (i had it's installer d/l'ed to disc , but that disc has long ago been lost to time) i've been considering looking up a disc copy on ebay but finding one is hit or miss. it would be a welcome edition to GoG

The multiplayer of this game is insane. When the LAN parties got late, we switched to Prey. Headache and confusion but the most fun you can imagine. 10/10 would buy again.

grossly underappreciated gem of a game. its a crime its not more well known, and doubly so that its actual sequel got canned. :/ as for what else to say; manages to achieve emotional impact while being knee deep in the era where G4TV was the gold standard of gamer culture. yea.

I was following this game development since 1998. what a masterpeace! the puzzles the portal system the combat. I remember i used to play it at night along with a friend and omg the schoolbus part gave me the goosebumps back in the day. This game is a MUST in the GOG collection

Since the was delisted it's almost impossible to get on pc anywhere, and I got it on xbox 360. Unfortunately I never played it, but would like to change that by playing it on pc. I believe that all games should not be delisted, and should by available to buy and play.

One of my very earliest memories of being a gamer is going to the local internet café and suddenly discovering this strange game called Prey installed in the machine. I had never heard of it, nor had any of my friends. So I boot it up to try it and immediatelly fall in love. Barracuda playing at the bar in the beginning just stamped itself in my mind as a core memory. The first time we switch to spirit form, oh (dramatic pause) my mind was blown away. The graphics for the time were sharp, the shooting was fun, and the horror atmosphere made me so scared as a 13yo but I didn't mind, cause I loved it so much. Throughout the years I was always wondering, "what about Prey?", and then I saw the announcement for a game called Prey, which fell short for me and made me really sad when I realized, that was not MY favorite game PREY, but something else entirely. I was so let down and never got to play this dear-to-my-heart game anymore. My only hope is you, GOG. Please bring back this gem and let us relive our fond memories.

This game really broke the idea of a typical FPS, in a wonderful way. The different ways of having to solve the puzzles, to having a native American main character (and lore), was awesome. It really helps you dive into what a FPS can be, and the story is pretty cool. Back when it was released, the story was a bit more unique (other games have since borrowed some of the same themes), but the gameplay/pacing really made you keep wanting to play on. The puzzles made you think in a different way (portals and gravity), but the action scenes and variety of weapons was just as fun too!

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
