This game aggressively re-iterated to me that games can be and are pieces of art. Outer Wilds left an impression on me I will hold with me likely for the rest of my life. It is such a perfect distillation of the joy of exploration and discovery. The soundtrack is legit one of the best OST's, one I listen to constantly. The story of the game is cosmically beautiful, it made me re-evalutate what was important to me in my day to day life.
This is one of the few games that I was able to not only annoy my friends enough to play, but when they did play it each one of them said its now one of their favorite games of all time. Its not for everyone, but if it clicks with you its guarenteed to leave a lasting impression.
I want to have this game forever. I want to make sure my children can play this game, and hopefully their children can play this game. Having a DRM free version of the game makes that possible.
