Just loved the whole trilogy, how choices from each part influence the story and characters' developments in later parts. I made three or four separate playthroughs of the whole trilogy, one for every romance combination I liked. I liked the weapon-cooldown combat system in the 1st a lot more than the ammo-based one in the sequels. Being an ammo hoarder I avoided any shooting builds in all sequels (Andromeda too) The game mechanic bonuses from playing through with different classes made replays more fun. Luckily some people uploaded all the elevator and vehicle and cockpit talk combinations to youtube =) I would have preferred having an option of both Shepard's and the AIs' (Eve and that other robot) simultaneous survival in the ending. co-op multiplayer was also enjoyable for me despite the grindyness. They could just reuse the voiced encyclopedia from the first game in all equels. After listening to the whole of it I ignored most encyclopedias in the sequels. Maybe add an option where Shepard/the player could listen on it like on a walkman/MP3 player during normal gameplay (e.g. during long drives on planet surfaces) and whenever dialogue would come up because of the gameplay the encyclopedia recording could pause automatically, like someone would pause an audiobook when asked for the time on the bus.

These are among my most favorite games of all the time, while the first one was a bit clunky, I love epic adventures, especially in a sci-fi setting. I got really immersed in the story and the fights are interesting enough and controllable enough to keep it interesting, rather than annoying. I spent many a night wanting to find just a little bit more of the story. The universe and places are so well fleshed out as well, and there is always something interesting to find out. It is also great when there is a lot of lore to be found, and it is not only pushing forward at max speed to get to the next checkpoint, but you can also live and breathe the world. I really want to get my hands on this, DRM-free, so I can keep it for play later. I want to play it again!
Mass effect is my best rpg scifi experience i would love to have the original series. Im nostalgic i like to have my uncencored cutsacenes & everything else too. plus to have all the expansions too.

- I have been counting - Anything in particular - The number of days you lengthened my life. This exchange gave me a tear. No movie could do in the past 10 years. We are talking about a sci-fi shooter series where decisions you make in previous games come back in amazing ways, like saving an autistic young man from brutal experiments, where he thanks you in his own way.
This is an absolute masterpiece, to this day. A game to remember, to feel immersed in an ever-expanding universe. Until now I dream of returning to new adventures in this universe.
This game helped me discover I’m trans through its immersive storytelling, characters, and decision making. Truly a pillar of gaming for everyone as well as my life!
I remember I played the 2nd one first, just for a few hours on my uncle Xbox and loved it... Later on I had the chance to play the 3rd game on my PS3 , also didnt finish. Then finally I got the chance and decided to play the trilogy, on PC, starting from the first game and importing my saves to each next game... I loved the whole experience and still recommend it as a serie.

While I felt the quality drop off in the last installment, this trilogy is a part of gaming history and some of the story beats within are fantastic. It, along with its DLC deserve to exist out there without the fickle nature of EA's servers.

IMHO, one of the best sci-fi plot in videogames' hystory. I've played this game on my old XBox even if I'm not fond on shooters, and I'd like to play it again on my computer.
Those games also need your vote!
Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.
